We arrived in Toroto where Christine and Frank picked us up. Later we met up with Steve O, Carter and Mer who bought us dinner and beer! GREAT, eh?

On a bus from Toronto going to kingston to visit Snyder. This is the scenery, also we sometimes get a glipse at Lake Ontario that is more a freshwatersea than a lake. It is just to BIG to be a lake in my mind. Also. here is a rough drawing of Rikke made on the bus ride

Brushpen

Thursday, June 17th, 2010

On recommendation from Christian Skovgaard P. I bought a brushpen. I love how trying new tools helps you work in a new way. Here is the pen and a drawing I did with it, on my way to school

1 year down 2 to go

Sunday, June 13th, 2010

We have entered the final weeks of the first year here at the Danish school of media and journalism (DSMJ). And so far it has been great. The way we are thought graphic design here this first year, has been based on one 1 week courses. In each week where we are introduced to a new theory, method or the like, after which we are to create some sort of design where we applyd our new knowledge. This normally results in some sort of presentation, where we have a chance to see what the rest of the class have accoplished and discus what workes and what doesn’t. I think that this way off studying works really well for the first year, but I must admit that im looking forward to some longer projects where we have a chance dig a bit deeper.

All in all it has been a good first yaer with great teachers and even greater students who all contribute to the learning experience, I find that I learn as much from my fellow student as I do from the teachers. And I feel that everyone has been willing to share knowledge and help with what they can.

A thing that keeps impressing me at this school is also the rest of the staff, evrybody seems like they enjoy their job. the receptionist, the kitchen staff, the janitor and the librarian are all helpful and smiling, how rare is that?

so thank you DSMJ. See you next year.
